Russia’s largest hotel chain, AZIMUT Hotels, continues to expand its geographic presence. The company has obtained a construction permit and begun work on a premium 5-star sanatorium on a plot of more than 4 hectares in a picturesque part of the resort town of Belokurikha, on Slavskogo Street. The new complex will be the chain’s second property in Altai. The total project investment is RUB 5 billion.
The sanatorium will be located in the heart of Belokurikha, next to the famous Radon Treatment Facility No. 1. The resort is renowned for its radon-rich waters, which are believed to improve blood circulation, support the musculoskeletal system, aid reproductive health and normalize metabolism.
The approximately 20,000 sq. m. building will comprise two structures connected by a two-story podium: a 220-room hotel building and a medical and wellness building. The complex will feature a spa with a swimming pool, fitness center, event spaces and underground parking. Located on the banks of the river next to a forest, the property will offer panoramic views of the pine forest from the rooms, while the building’s architecture will blend harmoniously into the surrounding landscape. Construction is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027.
Despite the resort’s high popularity and proven health benefits, Belokurikha currently has no 5-star accommodation options, limiting opportunities for travelers seeking premium stays. The new premium AZIMUT Hotels complex will combine the comfort of five-star accommodation with modern medical technologies and wellness programs for guests of all ages. The opening of the sanatorium will enhance the appeal of the legendary resort and contribute to an increase in tourist arrivals.
