AZIMUT City Hotel Murmansk 4* will once again serve as the hospitality partner of the annual race held at the world’s most powerful wind farm north of the Arctic Circle. The EL5-Energo Trail will take place on June 28, 2025, at the Kola Wind Farm in the Murmansk Region.
The EL5-Energo Trail brings together sports enthusiasts, fans of industrial tourism and advocates of a healthy lifestyle each year on a unique route across the Kola Peninsula. In 2024, the race attracted nearly 800 participants from 33 regions of Russia and became the first event to enter the Russian Book of Records as the “Largest mass race featuring multiple distances held in a single location north of the Arctic Circle in one day.”
AZIMUT City Hotel Murmansk 4* has been the general partner of the region’s major sporting event for several years, supporting and inspiring athletes to achieve new records. As part of an ongoing tradition, marathon participants can also take advantage of special accommodation rates at AZIMUT Hotels properties, offering comfortable conditions for preparing for the race. Trail winners will have the opportunity to discover new travel routes with AZIMUT Hotels — athletes who finish on the podium will receive hotel stay certificates at properties of Russia’s largest hotel chain.

Runners can choose from several distances — 3, 8, 20 and 50 km — while the youngest athletes can test their skills on a 600-meter course. The program also includes a seven-stage team relay covering a total distance of 50 km. All proceeds will be donated to charities in the Murmansk Region, with participants able to choose which organization they would like to support.
The start village will feature food stations, workshops and a photo zone. Visitors will also have the opportunity to join a themed guided tour. Experienced guides who work at the wind farm will explain how green energy is generated in the harsh Arctic climate.
The Kola Wind Farm is the world’s most powerful wind farm located north of the Arctic Circle. With a capacity of 202 MW, the wind farm is equipped with 57 modern turbines spread across an area of 257 hectares. In 2023, the green energy facility was included in the list of “Achievements of Russia.”
