From May to August 2025, around 1.5 million guests stayed at AZIMUT Hotels’ hotels and sanatoriums. The company’s analysts note that the 2025 summer season was marked by an active shift in tourist flows from some Black Sea resorts to new destinations. For example, the overall share of the Krasnodar Krai in the chain’s bookings declined by almost 15% year-on-year. At the same time, the number of trips to Dagestan, the Caucasian Mineral Waters region, the Kaliningrad Region and the Russian Far East increased.
The Caucasian Mineral Waters resorts recorded the strongest growth in bookings this summer. Demand for trips to Kislovodsk, Nalchik, Yessentuki and Zheleznovodsk increased by a combined 15% compared with last year.
Travelers Actively Explored New Destinations
The main trend of the season was a shift in tourist flows toward new and previously less popular destinations. The number of trips to these destinations nearly doubled.
Sol-Iletsk, a resort town in the Orenburg Region known for its salt lakes, saw particularly strong growth. The mineral concentration of its lakes is similar to that of Israel’s Dead Sea. Tourists also actively visited Abakan, the capital of Khakassia, with more than half of the guests visiting the city for the first time. The number of travelers to Yoshkar-Ola, the capital of Mari El, also increased. In total, new destinations accounted for 11% of all summer trips across Russia within the AZIMUT Hotels network.
This summer, travelers from central regions actively explored the Russian Far East. The number of bookings at AZIMUT Hotels properties in Vladivostok and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk increased by 7% compared with last year.
Demand for Sanatorium Holidays Increased by 8% Year-on-Year
According to the company’s analysts, this summer, Russians increasingly chose sanatoriums or hotels offering wellness programs for their holidays. From May to August 2025, the number of guests staying at AZIMUT Hotels sanatoriums increased by 8% to 500,000.
