Development of Baikalsk is one of the priorities for the President of Russia, the federal government and the regional leadership, as well as VEB.RF as the main Russian development institution. The project for the comprehensive transformation of the territory of the former Baikal pulp and paper mill is intended to become a new growth driver for the city and the region, as well as a starting point for exploring Lake Baikal.
The project provides for the creation of a modern urban environment with residential and tourist infrastructure, including hotels, water transport facilities, restaurants, parks, public spaces, a congress center, bicycle and pedestrian routes and sports facilities. The main goal is formation of a new modern district of Baikalsk and creation of an all-season resort of international level.
VEB.RF and AZIMUT Hotels signed an agreement on the project of construction of two hotels – categories of 4* and 5*. AZIMUT Hotels can act as their operator. The launch of the facilities is scheduled for 1 quarter 2030. The concept of each hotel provides opportunities for both active and relaxing recreation.

The 5* park hotel will include 184 rooms in the hotel and cottages, food outlets, a business area, a spa complex with a swimming pool and fitness, a children's area, and multi-purpose sports grounds. The 4* hotel complex is designed for 180 rooms, and will also include food outlets, a business area, a spa complex, and a work-out area.
The appearance of AZIMUT Hotels in Baikalsk is an important event both for the company itself, which continues to expand its geographic presence, and for the region, which is experiencing a real tourism boom. The opening of the hotels will create new jobs and become a point of attraction for Russian and foreign travelers who are planning business and tourist trips to Lake Baikal.
