December 11, 2020, at AZIMUTYaroslavl Hotel opened retrospective exhibition «Inspired… Chapters from the history of Yaroslavl aviation». The purpose of the exhibition is to remind the townspeople and tell tourists the almost forgotten proud history of Yaroslavl aviation and encourage them to visit regional aviation facilities - Levtsovo, Karachikha, Tunoshny.
The exhibition was organized by the specialists of ANO "Aviation Center Levtsovo", as a forerunner of the future aviation technical museum, which is being created on the territory of the general aviation airfield "Levtsovo ". The basis of the exhibition was the collection of the future museum – photo archive of the former airport "Levtsovo", personal items, documents, books, maps, aircraft models and original on-board equipment.
With the permission of the famous Yaroslavl writer, at the exhibition you can get acquainted with excerpts from his still unpublished work, which vividly describes the first meetings of Yaroslavl residents in the distant 1910 with aviation and famous Russian aviators. The Yaroslavl branch of the Russian Military Historical Society handed over the materials of Leonid Efimov, one of the first Yaroslavl pilots of the early 20th century. Thanks to the Yaroslavl training aviation center "Karachikha" at the exhibition, visitors will be able to imagine themselves in the real cockpit of the legendary Mi-2 helicopter. Unknown facts from the history of local military and civil aviation (airfields "Dyadkovo" and "Tunoshna") will be revealed by the materials submitted by members of the historical club "Yaroslavl Aviator", which unites veterans of Yaroslavl aviation, active pilots and technicians.
